First Card Supplementary Travel Insurance
The First Card supplementary travel insurance, First Travel Aid, gives additional protection for work-related travels. The insurance is valid when the trip has been paid (at least 75%) with a First Card, Nordea First Card Travel Account or AirPlus Travel Account. Family members accompanying the cardholder are also insured, if their trip has also been paid with a First Card, Nordea First Card Travel Account or AirPlus Travel Account.

The insurance is valid during trips lasting no more than 60 days. First Travel Aid is a group travel insurance policy in which both the insurance cover and the premiums are the same for all insured travellers.
If you need to file a claim for compensation, please follow the instructions below.

The claim must be filed to the insurance provider, Tryg Insurance A/S. The claim can be done with an online form or optionally by calling the Tryg’s customer service. Link to the online form can be found from Applications and Forms page.

Traveller's insurance

Permanent invalidity caused by an accident, 100,000 euros.

Compensation for waiting upon delayed arrival of luggage
If your luggage is delayed by more than four hours, you can make necessary purchases for the maximum amount of 170 euros. If your luggage is delayed by more than 48 hours, you can make necessary purchases for the maximum amount of 500 euros.

Compensation for delayed transport
If your trip is delayed due to delayed transport or overbooking by more than four hours, you can make necessary purchases abroad for the maximum amount of 420 euros.

Compensation for cancellation of your trip
If your trip is cancelled due to acute illness, accident, death or damage to property in Finland, the maximum compensation is 1,700 euros.

Compensation for missed departure
If you miss the departure or connecting transport, because a public conveyance or transport arranged by the tour operator is delayed or the private motor vehicle where you are travelling is involved in a traffic accident, the maximum compensation is 1,700 euros.

Compensation for trip interruption
If your trip is interrupted due to acute illness, accident or death, the maximum compensation is 1,700 euros.

Travel liability insurance
If you as a private person cause damage to an object or to a person during a trip, the maximum compensation is 85,000 euros.

Instructions in case of a delay or an accident
In cases of damage, a written claim to your insurance company starts the compensation process. Fill in a damage report form carefully and append all documentation and receipts related to the event of damage to the form. Sign the damage report form and send it to your insurance company.
  • Upon delayed arrival or loss of a suitcase, report it immediately to a representative of your airline. Store all receipts of the costs related to the damage.
  • Append all relative documentation to the damage report: purchase receipts, certificate from the airline or transportation company or other receipts.
  • Send a damage report to your insurance company right after your return to home.
  • Append to your damage report a receipt confirming that your travel ticket has been paid with Nordea's First Card or travel account.
